Campaign Story
* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.
Goals for My Fundraiser:
Supporting my capstone project
*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.
What is ‘Community Sound Lab for Civic Engagement’
A project that establishes a community-driven sound lab where students and local leaders collaborate to create innovative audio content focused on informing and inspiring democratic participation.

Why I am pursuing this project (My why)
- I am a ‘Relationship Builder’ personality type person with strong ‘advocate’ business potential.
- I’m super into making cool sound tech for music and I’m really good at it, too. So, I thought, why not use this passion to shake things up in tech education and make a real difference in the world? Imagine, our work in tech could actually help make democracy even better..
My plan of action: Competitions and Activities
Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:
TSA – Technology Student Association (TSA) is the primary CTSO for tech-focused students, offering competitions and projects that emphasize innovation, teamwork, and leadership in technical fields.
FBLA – Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) focuses on developing business acumen, leadership, and communication skills, which complement the student’s goal of innovating tech education and advancing democratic processes.
Competitions
FBLA – Community Service Project
This introductory FBLA competition encourages engaging with the community through a service project. It directly supports building civic engagement skills critical to the Community Sound Lab.
Community Service:
Community Sound Lab Workshop
Why it fits: This activity applies the skills gained from competitions to a real-world setting. It leverages audio and project planning skills to design an engaging workshop for local community members.
Implementation: Plan and organize interactive workshops at a local community center in zip code 30038 during the Spring semester; sessions include sound recording, editing, and civic storytelling.
Skills Development: Event planning, community engagement, audio technical skills, leadership
